Age Groupers Shine in 2024 Australian Sprint Championships
Ryan Mouritz and Georgia Ensbey clinch national titles at the 2024 Australian Age Group Sprint Championships in St Kilda.
St Kilda in Bayside, Melbourne hosted the 2024 Australian Age Group Sprint Championships on Sunday the 14th of January, at Race 3 of the 2XU Triathlon Series.
Cool conditions under overcast skies greeted the age group athletes as they took on the 750m swim, 26.7km bike and 5km run course along Melbourne’s iconic Port Phillip Bay.
Taking the national title in the 30-34 category, Ryan Mouritz was the first Age Group male across the line, clocking a slick 1:07:58.
Hamish Harrison, also in the 30-34 category, was second male across the line in 1:09:39, with Kai Haynes (1:10:38) both rounding out the male podium and snaring the national title in the 15-19 category.
Georgia Ensbey was the first female to cross the line in an impressive time of 1:18:13, clinching the national title in the 20-24 age category.
Claiming the national title in the 25-29 category, the second female was Liana Fitzpatrick in 1:19:14, with Alexandra Keith rounding out the female podium in 1:20:24 and also taking out the national title in the 35-39 category.
