Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series kicks off at Kawana Waters

For over 20 years the Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series presented by Scody has been an important fixture in the Australian triathlon calendar. With the addition of a 7th race, Gatorade QTS is now one of the largest triathlon series in Australia. Round 1 at Kawana Waters will kick off the season and is tracking for a near capacity field. The Event Crew and Gatorade QTS would like to invite everyone to join us at Kawana Waters on Saturday the 21st September and Sunday the 22nd September.

From beginners to elites, Gatorade QTS entices everyone to experience the challenges triathlon presents. Queensland local and professional athlete, Kirra Seidel, will once again join the Gatorade QTS at Kawana Waters in preparation for the ITU Triathlon Asian Cup race to be held just one week later in Singapore. Bryce McMaster is also on the professional triathlete circuit and after competing in the PruHealth World Triathlon Grand Final, on the 11th to 15th of September, will compete at Kawana Waters. Gatorade QTS is proud to support these triathletes as they race their way around the world and expect many other elites to come out of the woodwork to join us for round 1 and throughout the series.


The Gatorade QTS has also attracted a number of Olympic athletes from the Queensland Academy of Sport with. Among those already confirmed to attend are Mitchell Larkin, Australian representative at the London Olympics and Meagen Nay, Australian representative in Beijing and London Olympics.

Gatorade QTS invites anyone and everyone to enter with first timers and beginners encouraged to participate. Those new to triathlon are supported with a range of different distances on offer including competitive QTS, Enticer and Kool Kids distances. This variety of options creates a friendly environment that challenges the whole family to engage in fun, fitness and a challenge!

Round 1 also boasts the Open Water Swim to be held on Saturday the 21st of September. The Open Water Swim offers 500m Enticer and 1500m competitive QTS distances. With many athletes expecting this Saturday challenge a large field is expected. If you can’t get enough, Gatorade QTS Round 2 will be held at Raby Bay in Brisbane on the 13th of October, so sign up and Tri today!
