Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series Robina Preview
Near-capacity field set for a thrilling Round 3 of Gatorade Queensland Tri Series at Robina, with elites and newcomers alike.
Gatorade Queensland Triathlon Series got off to a cracking with enthusiastic atmosphere and exciting results at both Round 1 at Kawana Waters in September and Round 2 at Raby Bay in October. Fuelled by their love of triathlon, many competitors from the first 2 rounds will be joining The Event Crew for Round 3 at Robina this Sunday, 17th of November, with a near capacity field locked into this weekend’s event!
The elite field promises an exciting race this weekend with Bryce McMasters and Charlie Quinn back to fight for first. Quinn won Round 1 at Kawana Waters. McMasters managed to lock in 3rd place after mistakenly completing an extra lap on the bike course. We also see a number of long course elites including Adam Gordon and Shane Barrie lining up for some speed work. With this weekend’s event being held on a familiar course, it’s anybody’s race!
Courtney Dutton is back in action after placing 3rd at the 2013 Meizhou ITU Sprint Triathlon Asian Cup. Many are expecting Courtney to top the women’s field at Round 3, however, up-and-comer Lucy Smith has showed serious promise in the first two races and is likely to give Dutton a run for her money.
While Round 3 is sure to provide some exciting action for in the opens, it’s not just for the elites. Beginners are encouraged to come along to Robina this weekend to experience triathlon for themselves. The Event Crew and Gatorade QTS would like to wish everyone an enjoyable day and the best of luck!
