Ironman Australia & Ironman 70.3 Triathlon 2011 Port Macquarie Dates Announced

The 2011 Ironman Australia and Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Registration for both events will open exactly one year before race day, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at noon AEST.


With the successful conclusion of the 2010 Urban Hotel Group Ironman Australia event last weekend, all Ironman events in Australia will now be directly operated by World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) through its Australia-based staff. WTC would like to thank the entire IMG crew for its stewardship of the Ironman brand in Australia over the last 15 years.

Australian Event Information

Ironman Australia & Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie will take place on Sunday, May 1, 2011, and both will see a revamped and updated course. Be sure to register early, as demand is high and entries will be capped at 1,000 for Ironman Australia and 500 for Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie.

General entry closes on Monday, Nov. 1. A total of 75 Ironman Australia entry places have been set aside for ‘Ironman Australia Legends,’ individuals who have finished Ironman Australia 10 or more times.

Ironman Western Australia

Registration for Ironman Western Australia is still open and the race is nearing 50 percent capacity. The closing date for entries to the John Maclean Foundation Relay Event has been extended to Sept. 30.

After the close of general entry, a limited number of entry places will be available to those competing at the 2010 Ford Ironman World Championship.
