SuperSprint Events has announced that Luke Bell has confirmed he will race in next year’s 2XU Falls Creek Triathlon. Bell who just recently won the Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens in the States said “I’m really looking forward to Falls Creek next year! I have heard so many good things about the race especially the spectacular and challenging course and when I saw all the photos, that’s when I marked it in my calendar. I plan to get some training done there and use the race as a hard hit out which will be ideal preparation for Ironman Melbourne. The national title is just a bonus!”
Bell who started his triathlon career in Melbourne has had a very successful career racing overseas in Half Ironman/ Ironman 70.3 and Ironman events. He has won over 20 major events including the following Half/70.3 events “Hawaii, Cancun, Kansas, Vineman, Eagleman, Bufflowsprings and the recent Lake Stevens. His best place at Ironman in Hawaii was an impressive 5th. He is in good form after his last race win and is preparing for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships to be held in Las Vegas on the 11 September. He will then race the Ironman World Championships in Kona on 8 October.

The race is to be staged at Falls Creek on Saturday 11 February 2012 and will host both the Australian and Victorian Long Course Championships. It will consist of a 2km swim, 80km cycle and 20km run and boasts one of the most spectacular triathlon locations in Australia.
