After recently receiving the accolade of ‘Male performance of the Year’ from Triathlon Australia, and leading up to this weekend’s Ironman Melbourne, Pete Jacobs was today announced as yurbuds ® brand ambassador for Australia.
Developed by athletes for athletes, yurbuds ® are ultra-soft sports earphones that are guaranteed to stay in place to deliver pure, exceptional sound quality, even under the most vigorous conditions.
Triathlons and the type of training Pete undertakes are among the toughest of all. After trying yurbuds ® for the first time, Pete loved how they functioned: “You can tell yurbuds are designed by athletes, as they address all the needs someone like me would have “they don’t fall out, are durable yet comfortable, and most importantly they sound amazing. I’ve accidentally put them through the wash and they still work perfectly!” said Pete.
Chris Loverso of Big Balloon, yurbuds ® exclusive Australian distributor, is thrilled to have Pete on board: “When we heard Pete used yurbuds in his training in the lead up to his successful 2012 Ironman World Championship, we had to touch base and extend this partnership.
“With yurbuds approaching the first anniversary in the Australian market, this relationship is evidence that it’s on track to replicating the success the brand has had in the US,” he says.
“yurbuds is about athletes achieving their personal best through the motivation of music. Pete sits at the pinnacle of world triathlon and embodies what the brand represents. He’s no stranger to giving his best and it’s fantastic to welcome him to the yurbuds team,” Chris concludes.
Pete Jacobs has emerged as a real star of the triathlon circuit following his wins at Ironman Australia in 2011 and his breakthrough World Championship win at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii in October 2012. He regularly posts the top run and swim times in his races. Pete is also an ambassador for the John Maclean Foundation, which supports young Australians who use wheelchairs.
