The excitement moves to the streets of Noosa tomorrow for the return of Super Saturday, a Garmin Noosa Triathlon fan favourite.

Super Saturday To Light Up Garmin Noosa Triathlon

Thousands are expected to head to Noosa Parade to take in the action, with a full schedule of events back for the first time since 2019.

Super Saturday kicks off with the Australian Open Criterium women’s race which begins at 2.30pm, before the Legends Triathlon at 3.20pm, ASICS Noosa Bolt at 4pm and finally the Australian Open Criterium men’s race at 4.40pm.

The Australian Open Criterium women’s race will see 13 riders battle it out over a 30 minute plus three lap race on the Noosa Parade course.

The field is highlighted by 2021 champion, Tasmanian Lauren Perry, who will be joined on the start line by last year’s second and third place finishers, Jessica Pratt and Rachael Wales.

The ever popular Legends Triathlon returns to the Garmin Noosa Triathlon program for the first time since 2019, with a host of personalities set to take part in the team event.

Included in the Legends Triathlon this year are the likes of Bondi Lifeguards Anthony ‘Harries’ Carroll and Andrew ‘Reidy’ Reid, Olympians Susie O’Neill, Ky Hurst, Ken Wallace, Jessicah Schipper, Courtney Atkinson and Craig Mottram, and dual-international Mat Rogers.

Following the Legends Triathlon is the ASICS Noosa Bolt which will see a host of Australia’s quickest runners go head-to-head across 5km in front of the Noosa crowds.

Almost 60 runners will contest the men’s Bolt, with the fast and furious race sure to excite.

Headlining the men’s Bolt is Victorian Jack Rayner who last weekend broke the Australian 10km road record in Tasmania, crossing the line in 27:43, 11 seconds faster than the previous record holder Craig Mottram.

The men’s field also includes defending champion Ryan Gregson, 2021 second place finisher Jack Bruce and Olympians Benjamin Buckingham and Matthew Clarke. Australian running royalty Steve Moneghetti will also be taking to the course.

The women’s Bolt will see more than 20 runners race for the title, with three-Olympian and former winner Genevieve Lacaze who returns to racing following the birth of her child. Natalie Rule and Rose Davies head into the race in good form, with Davies pipping Rule for third in the Burnie 10 in a sprint finish last weekend.

Rounding out Super Saturday is the Australian Open Criterium men’s race, with over 30 riders lining up for the 45 minute plus three lap race.

2021 champion Liam Walsh will be back to defend his title, with last year’s fifth place finisher, Queensland’s Scott Duncan also racing.

On Sunday all eyes will be on Main Beach from 6.15am for the start of the Noosa Triathlon. Athletes will take on the 1.5km swim, 40km ride and 10km run either individually or as part of a relay team.
