THE ULTIMATE MOTIVATION: Australian age-group athlete Leigh Chivers came to compete in Kailua-Kona after a difficult year that saw him lose both his wife, Sara in January and two-year old son, Alfie in June to different forms of brain cancer. Thanks to an IRONMAN Ambassador Athlete slot, Leigh was able to complete one of Sara’s final wishes – to race in the IRONMAN World Championship.
